About the Department

The Needle Exchange Clinic is part of the Dependency Care area and works to develop accessible and effective methods to meet our target group with a low threshold for care.

The clinic is open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM and is located at the Östra Hospital area.

Our target group is individuals who inject drugs. Our main mission is to work with infection control, promote health, and reduce the harm that drug use can cause. An important part of our work is to motivate change and create pathways to other healthcare providers and social services.

We have nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, social workers, and midwives working together in a multidisciplinary team.

About the Job

As a social worker with us, you play a central role in motivating patients to seek care and support. You are the team’s expert in coordinating and linking patients to various support services, identifying needs, and contributing your expertise in psychosocial issues.

You will:

• Be responsible for collaboration processes regarding patients
• Coordinate care and support services for patients.
• Work to find effective pathways to regular care.
• Monitor patients' rights and plan for continued support

Part of your working hours will be allocated to dependency outpatient care to facilitate collaboration and transitions between units.

About You

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work. A license as a healthcare social worker is advantageous, as is experience in addiction care and public authority work.

To thrive with us, we see that you are positive, engaged, and have good collaboration skills. You have a genuine interest in working with our patient group, are curious, and want to contribute to developing the clinic’s operations together with the team. You have the ability to both collaborate and work independently and appreciate a varied pace of work where flexibility is an asset.
